Privacy policy

Cera saves your recipes on your iPhone. You don't need an account.

Last updated: October 31, 2026.

No ad tracking. Cera has no ads or cross-app tracking.

No recipe server. Your working data stays on your device.

Your recipe content stays private. Product measurements use a temporary session identifier. Feedback is sent when you submit it.

1. Who is responsible and how to contact us

Nox Systems is responsible for Cera. For questions about privacy or information you have sent us, email esteban-812@hotmail.com.

2. Information stored by the app

Cera stores your recipes in the app's local storage: name, weight per candle, fragrance percentage, percentage basis, unit, optional wax, fragrance, wick, container and notes, and dates used to save or restore a recipe. It also stores your current calculation and preferences on the device.

This information lets you calculate batches, reuse formulas, and resume your work. Cera doesn't automatically send it to Nox Systems and doesn't use its own cloud sync service. Device backups you have enabled with Apple may include app data, depending on your settings.

3. Backups you export

When you export a backup, Cera creates a file containing active recipes and deleted recipes that can still be restored. The current calculation isn't included. You choose where to save the file or who to share it with.

If you choose a storage or messaging service, its practices also apply to the file. Nox Systems doesn't automatically receive a copy. Delete backups from the place you saved them when you no longer need them.

4. Feedback and support email

When you send feedback in Cera, your message, app version, and iOS version are sent to Sentry so Nox Systems can review it. Recipes, calculations, screenshots, and attachments are not added automatically. Avoid including personal information that isn't needed to explain the issue.

The app confirms when the service accepts your message. If delivery cannot be confirmed, your draft stays available to retry or email. Acceptance does not mean the message has already been read. If you email us, we also receive your email address and anything you choose to attach.

We use feedback to improve Cera and provide support. We keep it as long as needed to handle the issue and meet applicable obligations. For access, correction, or deletion requests, contact esteban-812@hotmail.com.

5. Product analytics, diagnostics, and external services

Product analytics: Cera automatically sends predefined screen visits and actions to PostHog, such as opening a help screen, completing a calculation, saving or reusing a recipe, planning a batch, and exporting or importing a backup. Events use a random identifier held in memory for the current session. It is not an account or installation identifier and is replaced in a new app session. We use it to understand sequences of actions within a session, rather than recognize a person across visits.

Analytics does not include recipe names, ingredients, notes, quantities, search terms, feedback messages, email addresses, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, device models, screen contents, or recordings. Events contain fixed screen and action names, the app environment, and a coarse app version. We do not create person profiles or use advertising, automatic interaction capture, or session replay. Delivery is best effort, using an in-memory queue; events may be lost if the connection fails or the app closes.

Error diagnosis: technical reports use predefined failure codes and code locations, rather than raw error messages or recipe content. A temporary session reference can connect a report with the sequence of product events for that session. Screenshots, screen recordings, view contents, and recipes are not attached. A pending crash report may remain on the device until delivery, including its original session reference; that reference is not reused as the identity of a new session. A support message that you deliberately submit is handled separately, as described above.

Retention and deletion: closing Cera replaces the session reference on the next launch, but does not delete events already received by our providers. PostHog guarantees one year of event retention on its free plan; this is not an automatic deletion deadline. Sentry keeps individual error events for 30 to 90 days, depending on the active plan. Issue summaries and provider backups can remain longer under their own retention schedules. We use retained measurements to understand product use and investigate errors. To request deletion of information you have sent, email esteban-812@hotmail.com. We review requests using the information available to locate the relevant records; we do not connect session measurements to an email address to identify a person. See PostHog's retention terms and Sentry's event retention explanation.

Network services necessarily receive an IP address when handling HTTPS requests. Cera does not send an IP address as an analytics property, and requests disable analytics location enrichment. These measures do not make the network connection anonymous. See Sentry's privacy policy and PostHog's privacy policy for their processing practices. Contact esteban-812@hotmail.com about information you have sent us. Session measurements are not connected to your email address, and we may be unable to locate a specific session from your email alone.

Cera does not require an account or access to contacts, location, camera, or microphone. Source tutorials open on their authors' websites under their own privacy practices. Apple handles the App Store payment; Cera has no in-app purchases and does not receive your card details. Apple may also handle diagnostics or distribution information under its privacy policy.

6. Keeping and deleting data on your iPhone

Recipes remain in the app until its data is deleted. Deleting a recipe moves it to Deleted recipes so it can be restored; this isn't permanent deletion. You can reset the current calculation in Settings.

To remove Cera's local data, delete the app and its data through iOS. Offloading the app while keeping documents doesn't delete them. Deleting the app doesn't remove exported backups or device backups stored elsewhere; manage those separately.

7. This website

This site has no analytics tools, data collection forms, or tracking cookies. Images and fonts are served with the page. Email links open your email app; the site doesn't send messages itself.

Visiting a website sends technical information, such as your IP address, to its hosting service. The hosting provider may process logs needed to serve and protect the site. External services you open through links have their own policies.

8. Changes to this policy

If Cera's data practices change, we will update this page and the date above. You can contact Nox Systems at esteban-812@hotmail.com.
